Discomfort Now or Later?

Have you ever wanted to do something but you felt too scared so you didn’t?

Apply for a new job?

Ask someone out on a date?

Wear a new outfit?

Tell someone how you feel?

Leave your current job to follow your dreams?

See the thing is, there is always going to be discomfort in our lives. Discomfort from staying where we are, doing what we always do. This might feel safe but it also feels uncomfortable because there is this inner voice inside that is sharing with us all the things it wants to do.

When we push it aside or say no in order to remain where we are, it feels uncomfortable because we aren’t listening to what we truly want.

There is some discomfort when we remain the same.

AND

There is going to be discomfort when we put ourselves out there and take action to get the things we most desire.

Discomfort arises when we want certain things and realize what it might take to get them.

Most of the time, we take the route that feels easier - the route where we remain in our comfort zone.

But is it really easier? Or is it just more familiar?

For me, it’s simply more familiar as well as uncomfortable to remain the same. And it’s unfamiliar as well as uncomfortable to do the things necessary to reach my goals.

So when I ask myself, if I am going to feel uncomfortable no matter what, which kind of discomfort do I want to experience and the answer is:

I want the kind of discomfort that pushes me forward and evolves me into the best darn Carly Lowis there is.

Why?

Because I want to be a woman who makes a list of ALL the things she wants in her life. And then goes out and gets them. Even if it feels uncomfortable.

Because I want to be someone who believes 100% in herself and goes out into the universe creating the life she most wants.

Because I want to be a woman who owns her own business who gets to work from home working with and helping the most amazing people every single day.

Because I want to be an example of what is possible for the children in my house, in my school and in the world. I want them to know that there is nothing that they can’t have. I want them to see all the possibilities available to them and teach them how to go out there and get them, even if it’s scary.

Because, why not?

Discomfort is a part of life and is really no big deal so I am going to choose discomfort on purpose in order to achieve my dreams.

Who’s with me?
